Los Angeles, July 14, 2010: Txan Film Productions and Visual Arts, Inc. is proud to announce CONTRACT, a new docudrama film written, produced & directed by Guenny K. Pires, will be premiering at the Belize International Film Festival 2010, representing Africa for the first time in the Caribbean Islands.http://www.belizefilmfestival.com/
The 5th Belize International Film Festival is scheduled to take place July 16th thru July 24th at three venues in the country of Belize:
Venue 1: Belize City: Bliss Centre for the Performing Arts
Venue 2: San Pedro: Reef Village Cinema
Venue 3: Cayo: Ka’ana Boutique Resort
CONTRACT will be screened in Belize City at the Princess Theatre at 6pm on Sunday July 18th and in San Ignacio Cayo at the Ka'ana Resort at 6pm on July 23rd and will be in competition for the Best Docudrama Award.
Guenny K. Pires, who is a pioneer in film making from his native country Cape Verde, will be attending this event brings his vast cinematography experience to the most important Film Festival in the Caribbean Islands. He is a multi award-winning filmmaker dedicated to bringing the history and culture of his nativeCape Verde to the world's attention. Guenny’s projects include film work with Noam Chomsky, an American linguist, philosopher, cognitive scientist, and political activist.
CONTRACT that became the first Cape Verdean and São Tomé e Príncipe movie recipient of the Audience Favorite Docudrama Award the 18th annual Pan African Film Festival in Los Angeles, California, which took place February 10 to 17th of this year.

Recently, was screened at the Lusophone Film Festival at theUniversity of Massachusetts in Boston from March 27, 2010, Festin Portuguese and Brazilian Film Festival, May 6, 2010, and in Cape Verde at the National Auditorium May 28, 2010. This screening was included in a celebration of the 35 years of Cape Verdean Independence and the Day of Africa.
At the moment CONTRACT has screenings scheduled inCanada and Italy (August/September), Portugal , France , and São Tomé and Príncipe (October), Holland , Luxemburg (November) Germany , Austria (December). And many more venues around the world.
